This work analyzes the formation of the boundaries of the Ukrainian People's Republic (1917–18), and the Ukrainian State (1918), and the Ukrainian SSR, with particular attentiion to the transfer of the Crimea to Ukraine (1954). The analysis is augmented by an extensive selection of documents.
