This book examines the life's work of the sculptor and political figure Mykhailo Parashchuk (1878–1963): his studies in Cracow, Vienna, and Paris, his teaching appointment in Munich, imprisonment in Austria, political activity and, most importantly, his art, sculptures, wood carvings, commemorative monuments, ceramic works, creative decorations, and busts.

Dmytro Stepovyk is senior research fellow of the Maksym Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology, Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IMFE ANU), professor of art history at the Kyiv Theological Academy, and professor of cultural history at the Ukrainian Free University in Munich.
