Arcady Joukovsky (Arkadii Zhukovsky) is a historian, member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (NTSh), and foriegn member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences since 1991. Zhukovsky is renowned as a historian of Bukovyna and of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox church and has published many works on these subjects. A longtime associate of Entsyklopediia ukrainoznavstva (or EU, Encyclopedia of Ukraine, 10 vols, 1955–84) Zhukovsky became a member of its editorial board in 1971 and its editor in chief after the death of V. Kubijovyc in 1985. He is the author of Histoire de l'Ukraine (1993) and Нарис Історії НТШ в Европі (2000). He works at Société Scientific Ševčenko in Sarcelles, France.
